ABILITIES:

A big list of Amaterasu's powers and abilities can be found here, but in the game LifeAftr, he is limited to five Brush Skills at any given time which can be swapped out.

As of 1/5/18, the five skills are as follows:

- Power Slash
- Waterspout/Deluge
- Inferno/Flameburst
- Greensprout (Bloom, Lily Pad)
- Blizzard/Icestorm

Ammy also has a Passive form of Sunrise, she cannot rise or call the sun, but radiates the warm and light of the sun and revives faster in direct sunlight.

PERMISSIONS:

Because Amaterasu is a goddess, she has not only godly powers, but a divine appearance and holy weaponry. However, Ammy here actually is canonly not seen as a goddess, but usually as just a white wolf or dog. This means that it's canon for most people to not see her red marking and divine instrument/weapon! So, this post is basically a listing of those people who can or cannot see her, and to what degree.

Characters who do not believe in gods and/or Amaterasu (or just don't know much about them) herself will not be able to see her true form, just a simple white wolf with an impressively white coat (white enough to even appear like its glowing, especially in very dark places).

Characters who do believe in gods or of Amaterasu herself may be able to see her completely, or to a varying degree (I'll leave that up to the muns). Also, those with a heightened affinity to spirits, or who are considered "supernatural" themselves (demons, ghosts, vampires, angels, etc.) may be able to see Amaterasu for what she really is. Or, say, a character has a kind of canon "sense" that allows them to pick up on things of that sort - like DBZ characters' abilities to read power levels and stuff.

So, I'd just like a listing here based around these questions--

---

IMPORTANT. PLEASE NOTE: I also need to point out that Ammy is not a big animal. She's average-sized for a wolf, perhaps even smaller than one by an inch or two. It is normal, and actually canon, for Amaterasu to be mistaken for a plain, old, white dog than a wolf actually. It is OKAY for your characters to call her a dog or treat her as a dog and not a wolf. I actually prefer it, if your character has never seen a wolf in their canon or is unaware of what one looks like.

Please do not think of Amaterasu as huge or even "big", in the terms of height or girth. She's fluffy, but she's actually small and lean. Here's an image from the gameplay to kind of give you all an understanding of what Ammy looks like and her actual size in comparison to other objects around her.

The sign near her actually come up to about shoulder-height on most human characters, give or take...and the characters in her own canon are actually scaled very small themselves and she only ever comes to about their hips.

Here she is again, this time standing beside a child.

Please take this information into consideration when tagging her.

Thank you, everyone!

Character Information
Name: Okami Amaterasu (Ammy)
Series: Ōkami
Appearance: Depending on who can see her, she appears in 3 forms! Lesser god form, full god/Shiranui form, and the last is just a plain white wolf. No markings, no weaons, no swirly fur. The latter of these will be the most common, with the first being the second most common and her full god form being the rarest.
Age: No age given, but it's assumed she's as old as the world itself.
Canon Point: Endgame! When she's flying off with Waka toward the Celestial Plain.
Canon History: Woof.
Personality:
While Amaterasu is a silent protagonist, she certainly has a way of getting her point across, or conveying what’s on her mind, in one way or another. The wolf speaks with her actions, and she is every bit a wolf as she is a goddess; as a goddess, Amaterasu is wise, nurturing, kind, strong, and brave. She will readily dive headfirst into danger if she sees someone in trouble, regardless of the consequences it may have to her person. She has a strong sense of justice, and usually will help people with their problems or in battle unbidden and without need of being repayed. No task is too dangerous or too menial, no foe too big or too small. Amaterasu isn’t intimidated by many things, and even if she is, she will still fight to protect what needs to be protected, as she feels it is her sworn duty to guard those she loves so dearly. If anyone needs help, you better believe they have a powerful and very loyal ally on their side, whether they ask for her assistance or not.

Even then, Amaterasu is no show off, and she while she takes her role as a goddess very seriously, she doesn't use that title to lord over anyone. To her, being a goddess doesn’t make her “holier than thou” in the slightest, and she finds that sort of behavior repulsive (as it is one seen in many of the Demon Lords). While knowing she could probably get a lot of praise and followers if she let people know what kind of being she is, Amaterasu’s just not like that. She prefers to lazy it up and acts more like a wolf (or general canine) in the presence of people than a divine being. By being friendly and understanding, she can get closer to people and really learn about them, and help and watch over them if need be. She is referred to as the “Mother Goddess” in her canon numerous times, and it shows how motherly she can be, even when she’s not being a goddess. She’ll listen to your troubles (though her attention span may dwindle if it's really longwinded or dull) and cheer you up with a lick or cuddle. Or, for the more stubborn folk, a well-placed head butt! Hey, even a mother’s gotta dish out some punishment to unruly children once in a while. Or knock some sense into them. While bein generall sweet, the wolf certainly does have her sassy and sarcastic side. She's got a lot of personality and is a true little firecracker depending on who she interacts with and how.

On top of her gung-ho sense of justice, Ammy is actually one very, very lazy goddess, despite her willingness to help people. While she would help, absolutely, she’d really prefer to sleep an entire day away...after stuffing her face full of whatever food’s available, of course. Ammy will almost never turn down a free meal, and is very driven by offerings of snacks and scraps. In fact, her gluttonous ways would have her probably snatching a morsel right out from someone's nose. Benevolent goddess, yes, but also a greedy mutt.

She’s also not the type to sit through long and boring explanations, so if she yawns in your face and falls asleep…deal with it. If you fall into a patch of mud and get all gross and dirty? Ammy will probably laugh in your face (or as close to a laugh as a wolf can produce) and jump into the mud herself (and may the stars have mercy on your soul if you try to wash her). She’s even been known to yawn in her enemies’ faces or, if they really tick her off, pee on them – it’s a deadly weapon, really. She’s honestly not very “goddess-like” in most occasions, the people in her own canon thinking she's just a stray mutt that's hanging around looking for attention or food, but that’s because most of the time it’s just so much work to be anything more than who she is naturally! If she doesn’t have to do something, then you better believe she won’t. There is a fine line between helping and meddling.
Abilities: Amaterasu is strong, there's no denying that. With skills and weapons befitting her title as goddess, she definitely has the part down pat, and even wthout those skills and weapons listed below, she has immense physical strength and speed. I'll list her given/more physucal traits first, then move on to weapons and abilities.

Firstly, Amaterasu is super strong - far stronger than any normal wolf. She can support people and things many times her weight either on her back or in her mouth, and she can shatter rock with the force of a well-aimed headbutt, and can dig through solid rock when she learns the trait through the training dojos in game. I'll be limiting her strength to carrying the weight of perhaps two grown adult men (average weight/height) and she cannot dig through solid stone nor can she break it with a headbutt, but trying to won't shatter her skull or anything - she'll just spring off it and feel a bit woozy for a minute.

I'm also going to limit her speed as well to swift bursts of speed, up to three times (think like in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, to spur a horse on to go faster), and using up all three will result in her slowing down to an exhausted walk, or having to stop and take a rest for a few minutes to catch her breath. She also won't exceed speeds of maybe a cheetah or so. No more Full Throttle Ammy, woe and sadness.

Now, Ammy's weapons and ablities - Ammy has three types of weapons, and each one has a few different power when attached as either a main or sub weapon. They are as follows:
Reflector: As a main weapon, Amaterasu’s reflectors are like short range bludgeoning tools. She can swing them in any direction she chooses, with her mind, to deal damage. As a sub weapon, they act as shields that protect her from excessive damage, though they won't stop everything in Lifeaftr. Harsh attacks will make the shield falter, and if her concentration is broken or she's put under too muh pressure, it will fall away and leave her open to attacks. One reflector as well, Solar Flare, also has an elemental attribute attached to it - the ability to produce flames with her Celestial Brush, which I will cover later. Solar Flare will be the Reflector Ammy is coming to Lifeaftr with, as it is her signature reflector and part of who she is. It holds great significance to her.
Rosary: Amaterasu’s rosaries are much like whips. She swings them with a flick of her head (as the beads usually surround her neck) to deal swift but shallow damage. They don’t strike hard, but they strike fast and have an immense range and some can be shot like bullets. Again, not as powerful, but speedy - like firing in rappid succession. They can also catch onto things and she can pull herself or swing herself around from, say, a branch or so. A few rosaries add extra effects, like the Tundra Beads being able to freeze foes solid when shot at them. Ammy's rosary she's coming with won't have an elemental attribute, though; the Exorcism Beads are just a base weapon that deals damage.
Glaives: Truly Amaterasu’s strongest weapons, but also the slowest. These huge, heavy swords are used as any other sword, but they also have the ability to be “charged”. By focusing her power into a single strike, Amaterasu can deal more damage with a charged up swing than a normal one. Unfortunately, charging up takes a lot of concentration, and she’s pretty darn vulnerable when she’s doing it. Also, like I said before, Glaives are her slowest weapons because they’re so heavy and large. It’d be easy to avoid a swing if a foe is fast enough. As a main and sub weapon, the effects of a glaive don’t change much. And like he other two wepons above, one Glaive in particular comes with an elemental attribute - Thunder Edge, which can fire jolts of electricity at her opponents. Amaterasu will be coming is with Tsumugari, however, which is just a sword, no elemental attribute.

Now...the big one. As well as her weapons, speed, and strength, Amaterasu’s main power - the power that truly makes her a goddess in the eyes of others - is her Celestial Brush and the skills attributed to it. By painting with the tip of her tail, Amaterasu can produce an array of different skills and powers depending on what she draws. A list of the different skills can be found in the link provided here, with great detail added (there are a lot). Some of the skills are exclusive to where she's from, as a few of the "catalysts" to use those skills will not be available in this setting. The two that won't be used either at all or very much will be Catwalk and Vine, as those two skills need objects from Nippon to work properly. Blizzard will also be omitted, probably, considering the setting of Lifeaftr is tropical (for now). Below is a brief rundown of the skills and how they'll be nerfed:

Also, these skills are not to be used exclusively. They come with a harsh limit. The skills all require ink to use, and this is not universal. Ammy only has thirteen ink pots she can use freely, and each skill uses some up. The stronger the skill, the more ink it will use. Ink will regenerate over time (one ink pot every two hours), but she will have to use her powers wisely. If ever she uses up all her ink at one time, Amaterasu's godhood will be nixed entirely - meaning no god form, no celestial brush, and no weapons for a full 24 hours. She will be, in all regards, just a wolf.

- Rejuvenation: Ammy can restore one broken or lost item, no bigger than half a wall of a shack. This will use us all her ink.
-Powerslash: Cuts through rock only. Three ink pots for one use.
- Sunrise: Amaterasu signature skill, can call forth the power of the sun - a blinding light that illuminates a wide area for a few minutes. This uses half her ink.
-Crescent: Will probably be omitted, it's...really not used for much more than calling the moon/shifting to night time.
- Greensprout: VINE IS OMITTED ENTIRELY. Lily pad will cost 2 inkpots per lily pad, and Bloom, when used on the earth, will cost 6 inkpots, and not cover more than a 5x5 foot area. Plants grown will also either be buds, sprouts, or unripened fruit/vegetables. She cannot grow trees, only tiny saplings. When Bloom is used on people, it costs no ink. HUGS ARE ALWAYS FREE. ♥
- Waterspout: She'll mostly be using waterspout to move water around as well as Deluge to call rain, which will be a downpour lasting only two minutes. Both will cost 6 inkpots.
- Cherry Bomb: She can only use one!! No three-bies. Each bomb costs 3 inkpots to create, and the former one MUST be detonated before another can be summoned.
- Veil of Mist: Can slow down Amaterasu's surroundings only, not the inhabitants of the island. Thirty second of slowed time costs 11 inkpots. MIST WARP IS OMITTED ENTIRELY.
- Flameburst: Moving around fire from a known source of flame will cost 4 inkpots, but creating an Inferno will cost 11 inkpots.
- Thunderstorm: Directing lightning from a seen source (a storm/someone else's magic) will cost 4 inkpots, but creating a storm herself will be worth 11 inkpots.
-Galestorm: Again, probably omitting this. It's simply not all that useful in this setting.
- Catwalk: Omitted.
- Blizzard: Omitted(??). Thus far Lifeaftr is a tropical island...but who knows what time will bring. In the case that ice ever becomes available, freezing something from a source of sheer cold will cost 4 inkpots, and the frozen target will thaw after just one minute. Foes that are spicy (or just flamey) can't be frozen. Creating a hailstorm/ice storm will cost 11 ink pots.
- She will not be able to use Okamiden exclusive Brush Skills upon entering the game, those being: Guidance and Magnetism.

Another thing to note on Ammy’s abilities is that, because she is the goddess of life and creation, she has the power to make flowers burst up behind her when she runs at full speed, kind of like a trail. They ultimately serve no purpose and everyone can see these, though they wither and fade away after just a few minutes, just something that is attributed to her being supernatural.

I also spoke with Angel regarding possibly opening up 5 slots for Ammy's Brush Skills and 1 weapon slot. I'd like to ask that the weapon slot be upped to 2, since in game Ammy has one main and sub weapon. I'd really only use the second slot so her reflector could act as a shield and she can use her other weapon as the damage dealer since this...really is the main use of reflectors even in game.
Inventory:
Ammy is going to be coming in with three weapon types I listed above: 1 glaive (Tsumugari), 1 reflector (Solar Flare), and 1 roasry (Exorcism Beads). She'll also have three of each set of feed bags. These are for animals only, and humans will not be able to consume them, though they may make good distractions for a hungry predator. Those will include seeds (cannot be planted), herbs, meat, and fish. I'm willing to limit them to one each if necessary, or omit completely.

She'll also have a set of exorcism slips, which damage evil beings in a set radius when flung at them. Ammy will have 6 of these - 3 small (small radius of damage - about 5 feet, small amount of damage like stunning and blinding), 2 medium (medium radius - about 15 feet, medium damage such as burning, maiming, or heavy injury), and 1 large (large radious, about 30+ feet, not exceeding 50, and this will cause large, possibly fatal damage to lesser foes and a dencent chunk to stronger ones. Each slip is single use only, and cannot be replaced or replenished unless given by the ST. Again, willing to limit or omit entirely per mod discretion.

Ammy will also have one, single bead woven onto a braided, red string. The bead will be colored very similar to a person she knows...a jade green, lighter in hue towards the center, and colored with a black spot right in the middle. This is a very precious item to Amaterasu, but holds no power at all. It's just a glass bead.
