ABILITIES:
A big list of Amaterasu's powers and abilities can be found here, but in the game LifeAftr, he is limited to five Brush Skills at any given time which can be swapped out.
As of 1/5/18, the five skills are as follows:
- Power Slash
- Waterspout/Deluge
- Inferno/Flameburst
- Greensprout (Bloom, Lily Pad)
- Blizzard/Icestorm
Ammy also has a Passive form of Sunrise, she cannot rise or call the sun, but radiates the warm and light of the sun and revives faster in direct sunlight.

PERMISSIONS:
Because Amaterasu is a goddess, she has not only godly powers, but a divine appearance and holy weaponry. However, Ammy here actually is canonly not seen as a goddess, but usually as just a white wolf or dog. This means that it's canon for most people to not see her red marking and divine instrument/weapon! So, this post is basically a listing of those people who can or cannot see her, and to what degree.
Characters who do not believe in gods and/or Amaterasu (or just don't know much about them) herself will not be able to see her true form, just a simple white wolf with an impressively white coat (white enough to even appear like its glowing, especially in very dark places).
Characters who do believe in gods or of Amaterasu herself may be able to see her completely, or to a varying degree (I'll leave that up to the muns). Also, those with a heightened affinity to spirits, or who are considered "supernatural" themselves (demons, ghosts, vampires, angels, etc.) may be able to see Amaterasu for what she really is. Or, say, a character has a kind of canon "sense" that allows them to pick up on things of that sort - like DBZ characters' abilities to read power levels and stuff.
So, I'd just like a listing here based around these questions--

IMPORTANT. PLEASE NOTE: I also need to point out that Ammy is not a big animal. She's average-sized for a wolf, perhaps even smaller than one by an inch or two. It is normal, and actually canon, for Amaterasu to be mistaken for a plain, old, white dog than a wolf actually. It is OKAY for your characters to call her a dog or treat her as a dog and not a wolf. I actually prefer it, if your character has never seen a wolf in their canon or is unaware of what one looks like.
Please do not think of Amaterasu as huge or even "big", in the terms of height or girth. She's fluffy, but she's actually small and lean. Here's an image from the gameplay to kind of give you all an understanding of what Ammy looks like and her actual size in comparison to other objects around her.
The sign near her actually come up to about shoulder-height on most human characters, give or take...and the characters in her own canon are actually scaled very small themselves and she only ever comes to about their hips.

Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? extremely high spiritual affinity, belief in gods. (stronger belief in gods that don't manifest in human forms tbh.)
specifically: she receives her power from a god (who is also a dragon, and also a celestial star), and is one of those "this god has chosen me to help protect the world, even though it means i'm going to be reborn over and over again for thousands of years" types. can summon a portion of that god's power. serves as the bridge between the human and spirit world. spirit world taxiing doesn't cross over to the game for obvious reasons, but the general High Spirit and divine energy stats remain. this is basically her job lmao

((Yeah, this post is heavily outdated, since I've played Ammy in multiple games now over the years and just reused this format, but I do plan to do a serious overhaul of it eventually, though the text more or less would remain the same. ;w; thank you, though. ♥))

How well can your character see Amaterasu?: Jaime can sense that there's something supernatural or powerful about her!
Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? My character has a supercomputer in his spine that can sense when something is in possession of great power! He'll know that she's not ordinary, but he won't be able to see her in her true form.

Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? Magnus is an emissary of Istus, the goddess of fate, and is therefore both goddess-touched and has a strong belief in the supernatural/gods!!

How well can your character see Amaterasu?: It will probably take her a while to figure it out because her initial thought is going to be "that dog looks exactly like my best friend's dog who also looks just like a small white wolf." If she was in a situation where she was in Windam, she would see the markings fully because she would be "looking" through his eyes.
Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? She knows who Amaterasu is, but the thing that would make her able to perceive that this dog is Amaterasu is her bond with her Mashin/Rune God/giant birdbot, Windam. But he hangs out in a pocket dimension most of the time and doesn't say much unless Fuu is talking to him directly or if he's emerged due to some imminent danger.
On that note, if Amaterasu wants to sense that Fuu has a spiritual connection with a giant guardian bird spirit, that is fine with me!

Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? Well, aside from Yenh coming from a canon where gods are real and often get punched in the snoot, she is the champion of a Goddess and both had visions of Her and has heard Her voice repeatedly. Plus, her whole world is lousy with supernatural nonsense. She won't jump to the conclusion "This is a goddess," but she can see Ammy's Cool Form.

How well can your character see Amaterasu?: Blurred images of her markings, without the instrument.
Why can your character see Amaterasu, if they can? Sypha does not believe in gods, but gods exist - the same way as one does not believe in the postman, but the mail system exists. However, this is very much in the Western Judaeo-Christian tradition, so she would be very unfamiliar with Amaterasu. Sypha is also canonically a very powerful elemental magician with the ability to recognize binding / hiding spells, so she has a bit of magical sight (though she's not the best at it).
